Lessons to compare On 15 March, 2006 I commissioned a DVD CAM to record the noise, the movement of passers- by, the weather, the light before the locked entrance of a deserted block of flats at number 60, MarniStreet, in Athens. The camera absorbed much more evidence than I had imagined, a few rain drops and a lot of dust.The point of observation is the balcony of Moka Hotel, just across the road and opposite the locked entrance door.The camera recorded 24 hours, from daybreak on March 15 until daybreak on the 16th.In short, I commissioned the camera to record the files of the necessary evidence in order to verify the expectation that the entrance door in Marni Street would constitute the steadyunalterable inflexible untouchable point in the image. A second camera in the hotel room recorded the whole process of the project. In the early afternoon I was lying on the bed observing the passers-by on the control monitor beside the balcony door. The second camera was observing me sideways, from behind.
